Pune : Pedestrian Dies After Hit By PMPML Bus In BRT Lane, Driver Booked
Pune 20th Sept 2023: In yet another tragic accident involving the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) bus reported in the city on September 16, a 52-year-old pedestrian died after he was hit by a PMPML bus on the Pune-Ahmednagar Highway. The incident was reported near Agha Khan Palace in the BRT lane.
According to the police, the deceased whose identify is not yet ascertained was crossing the road when he was hit by a speeding PMPML bus in the BRT lane. The victim sustained serious injuries in the accident and was rushed to the hospital for treatment. However, the doctors there declared him dead.
A case under sections 279 and 304 (a) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) along with sections 184 and 119/177 of the Motor Vehicle Act has been registered at the Yerawada Police Station against the PMPML driver. Further investigation in the matter is underway.
