Pune: Pedestrian Killed in Hit-And-Run Accident In Wagholi; Search For Driver Underway
Wagholi, 12th December 2024: A 47-year-old pedestrian lost his life in a hit-and-run accident in the Wagholi area on Sunday night (8th December). The driver responsible for the accident fled the scene, and the Lonikand police have registered a case against the unidentified driver.
The deceased has been identified as Vishnu Hari Bhatorai, a laborer residing in Wadegaon, Taluka Shirur. The incident occurred around 8 pm near the Katkewadi junction when Bhatorai and his friend, Lokbahadur Narbik, were walking in the area.
According to the police, a speeding vehicle struck Bhatorai, leaving him severely injured. He was rushed to the hospital for treatment but succumbed to his injuries. A complaint regarding the incident was filed by Narbik at the Lonikand Police Station.
The authorities are currently investigating the case and are attempting to identify the driver involved in the accident.
