Pune: People Living Near Cowshed Saved From Corona virus

Pune, 29 June 2021: Pune Municipal Goseva committee has found out that the people who were living near the cowshed were saved from getting infected with Corona virus. PMC surveyed 300 cowsheds in the city wherein 292 cowsheds were never got infected with Corona virus.

It was found that people who were in contact, working in the indigenous cows and cowshed were never got any infection. Girish Waikar, Kasba Peth coordinator of the committee said, “Only 14 people had Corona symptoms among 895 people that were tested”.

Many of these people were also working outside and the area around the majority of these cowsheds was among the containment zone”, he said. “99.27 percent of people working in and around the indigenous cows were not infected with Corona virus”, he informed.

“The cow urine and cow dung have volatile organic and phenolic compound properties that would have worked like anti-virus. This must have saved them from getting infected”, said Pramod Moghe, retired scientist, National Chemical Laboratory.

Associate coordinator of PMC committee Niranjan Gole said, “we surveyed nearly 300 cowsheds across the State through a detailed 18 types of questionnaires. We found out that many were not infected with the virus. We have checked them medically too”.
