Pune, 26th March 2026: The Petrol Dealers Association of Pune on Thursday appealed to citizens to refrain from panic buying of petrol and diesel, assuring that there is no shortage of fuel in the city.

In a press statement issued on March 26, the association clarified that supplies from oil marketing companies remain normal and petrol pumps across Pune and nearby areas are being replenished regularly. “There is no shortage of fuel, and the supply chain is functioning smoothly,” it said.

However, the association noted a sudden spike in demand in recent days, attributing it to panic buying by consumers. It warned that such an unusual surge could put unnecessary pressure on the distribution system and lead to temporary inconvenience at fuel stations.

Urging residents to remain calm, the association advised citizens to purchase fuel only as per their routine needs and avoid hoarding. It also called on the public to cooperate with petrol pump staff and maintain order at outlets.

Officials said the association is in constant coordination with oil companies and local authorities to ensure uninterrupted supply of fuel.

They added that public cooperation would be key to maintaining smooth operations and ensuring that fuel remains readily available to all consumers across the city.
