Pune: Prostitution racket busted at ‘Rich Feel Spa’ in Pimpri, 3 women rescued

Pimpri Chinchwad, 26th March 2026: The anti-human trafficking unit of the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Crime Branch on Wednesday raided a spa centre in Pimpri and unearthed an alleged prostitution racket operating under the guise of a Spa, officials said.

Acting on specific inputs, a team led by senior police inspector Nitin Gite conducted a raid at ‘Rich Feel Spa’ in the Samrat Chowk area of Pimpri, under the jurisdiction of the Sant Tukaram Nagar police station.

Police have registered a case against the spa operator, Mayur Dinesh Mohite (26), a resident of Dighi, and the manager, Akshay Mahadev Sutar (26), currently residing in Nigdi and originally from Kolhapur. Sutar has been arrested under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Prevention of Immoral Traffic Act (PITA).

Three women were rescued during the operation.

The action was carried out following directions from police commissioner Vinay Kumar Choubey and under the supervision of DCP (Crime) Shivaji Pawar and ACP (Crime-1) Vishal Hire.

Police said the anti-human trafficking unit has intensified its crackdown on illegal prostitution rackets operating from spas and hotels across the commissionerate limits.

So far this year, the unit has conducted raids on eight establishments, including six spas and two hotels and cases were registered under relevant sections BNS and PITA. A total of 20 accused have been arrested and 17 women rescued in these operations, officials said.

In a parallel move, the police commissioner has ordered the closure of 29 such establishments for a period of one year following preliminary inquiries conducted over the past three years. Of these, three establishments have been shut in 2026 so far. Police said further inquiries are underway and additional action is likely in the coming weeks.
