Pune: Pimpri Chinchwad Gears Up for India International EV Show (IIEV) Extravaganza

Pune, 27th November 2023: Pimpri Chinchwad, a bustling hub for vehicle manufacturing and innovative concepts, is set to host the India International EV Show (IIEV), a flagship electric vehicle exhibition.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar is scheduled to inaugurate the event at 10 am, with organizers anticipating it to be India’s largest electric vehicle exhibition. The exhibition is slated to take place from December 1st to 3rd 2023 at the Auto Cluster Exhibition Centre in Pimpri-Chinchwad.

Details about the exhibition were shared during a press conference attended by key figures such as Mukesh Yadav, Satish Mandole, Hemant Padhe, and Vilas Rabde. The IIEV aims to showcase innovations, eco-friendly transportation solutions, and visionary initiatives within the ever-evolving electric vehicle industry. The event is poised to provide a platform for over 200 exhibitors from across India, attracting more than 20,000 visitors globally.

Highlighting the significant growth of India’s electric vehicle market, Namit Gupta, Director of Futures Group, stated that an estimated 2.8 million electric vehicles are currently in use in the country. The market is projected to experience a remarkable Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 94.4 per cent by 2030, indicating a rising trend toward electric vehicles and emphasizing the nation’s commitment to sustainable development.

In the last financial year (2022-23), electric vehicle registrations surged by over 200 per cent, reaching 8,668 vehicles in 2021-22. Pune, a major vehicle manufacturing hub, is leading the charge in electric vehicle research, innovation, and manufacturing. With expertise in manufacturing, research, and development, Pune provides an ideal location for hosting the IIEV.

The exhibition promises attendees the opportunity to explore the latest electric vehicles, interact with experts, and delve into the future of electric transportation. With various events, seminars, and networking opportunities, the IIEV aims to attract manufacturers, environmentalists, technology enthusiasts, policymakers, and auto enthusiasts. The event seeks to promote sustainable transport and raise awareness about the positive impact of electric vehicles on the environment and public health.
