Pune: Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation Takes Action Against Illegal Encroachments In Chikhali

Chikhali, 20th October 2023: In a move to combat unauthorized encroachments within its jurisdiction, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s Regional Office C Encroachment Team initiated a series of eviction actions across various locations today. The targeted areas included Ward No. 02 and 08, spanning the region of Indrayani Riverbed and Stream in Moi Phata Group No. – 7, 8, 9, and 10, identified by blue and red lines as illegal encroachments, covering an approximate area of 4,000 sq ft of reinforced concrete construction (RCC).
The comprehensive operation comprised multiple actions, including dismantling one boundary wall in the Indrayani Nagar area, as well as the removal of a 500-square-foot Metal Shed near the Indrayani Nagar Mini Market and a 2000-square-foot Metal Shed in Bhosari MIDC. Additionally, two steps in the Khandewasti area were among the targeted locations. The encroachment removal activities took place under the guidance of PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh, Additional Commissioner Pradeep Jambhale Patil, and City Engineer Makarand Nikam.
Assistant Commissioner Anna Bodde, Deputy Engineer Suryakant Mohite, Junior Engineer Sandeep Vaidya, Chandrakant Patil, Priyanka Mhaske, Rachna Dalvi, Rita Jadhav, Balaji Kamble, Ketki Kulkarni, and Sandeep Wadile were the driving force behind the operation, along with the support of the municipal police staff, Maharashtra Security Force, and Maharashtra Police.
The enforcement actions successfully removed approximately 6500 square feet of RCC constructions, metal sheds, and encroachments across the areas of Ward No. 02 and 08. These removal efforts, conducted on October 20, 2023, saw the collaborative efforts of the Maharashtra Security Force and the Maharashtra Police Team.
The Municipal Corporation has been consistent in addressing encroachments that occur in different parts of the city. In light of this, citizens are urged not to park abandoned vehicles on roads, avoid erecting unauthorized stalls, letter sheds, and banners, and to actively cooperate in maintaining the cleanliness and integrity of the public spaces.
