Pune: Pimpri Chinchwad Police Guides School Students To Create Responsible Citizens For Society

Pimpri-Chinchwad, 16th February 2024: The Traffic Branch of Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate has launched an initiative called ‘One Day For School’, aimed at connecting with students on important topics such as road safety, traffic regulations, accident prevention, preventing drug addiction/substance use, cybercrime, responsible use of social media, and respect for women and girls. Under this program, sessions are conducted for students at various schools within the commissionerate’s jurisdiction every Thursday.

DCP (Traffic) Vivek Patil told Punekar News, “A total of 20 teams from the Traffic Branch visit approximately 20 schools each Thursday to engage with students and conduct sessions. On 15th February, through our 19 teams, we reached out to 2915 students from 19 schools. So far, a total of 53736 students have been guided through this initiative.” DCP Patil emphasized the vision behind the initiative, stating, “Our goal is to cultivate responsible citizenship and promote good values among today’s students.”

He also credited the successful execution of the program to the guidance of Vinoy Kumar Choubey, Police Commissioner of Pimpri Chinchwad, and Vasant Pardeshi, Additional Police Commissioner.

The initiative has been carried out with the active participation of the Traffic Department team, including ACP (Traffic 1) Bhaskar Dere, and ACP (Traffic 2) Satish Kasbe, along with all other police officers and subordinate staff.

The program has received an enthusiastic response, and preparations for the next session are underway.
