Pune: Pimpri Chinchwad Police Recover 950 Grams Gold Worth Rs 47.5 Lakh, 5 Dacoits Arrested

Pimpri, 24th June 2021: The sleuths from Crime Branch Unit 5 of Pimpri Chinchwad Police have arrested a gang of thieves and recovered 950 grams gold worth Rs 47.5 lakh from their possession.  .

The arrested persons have been identified as Lingya alias Ajit Vyakampa Pawar, Appa Ram Bhosale (40) of Sindgaon in Tuljapur taluka of Osmanabad district, his wife Sarika Santosh Chowgule alias Payal Appa Bhosale, Akshay Mangesh Shinde (22) of Kazi Tadmas in Akkalkot taluka of Solapur district, Ajay Rika alias Rahul Pawar of Kem in Karmala taluka of Solapur district.

Assistant Police Inspector Ram Gomare had received information that Lingya alias Ajit Vyakampa Pawar, one of the accused in the burglary cases, was hiding at a relative’s house in Aurangabad.

While addressing a press conference today, Police Commissioner  Krishna Prakash said, “A team was dispatched to Aurangabad disguised to keep watch on him. Finally, Lingya was caught in Walunj in Aurangabad. He was brought to the Crime Branch office and interrogated and 330 grams of stolen gold jewellery was seized from him.”

He was arrested in a case registered at Talegaon MIDC police station. During the investigation, he revealed the names of his four accomplices and also returned 150 grams of stolen gold ornaments.

Senior police inspector Ramdas Ingwale came to know that Lingaya’s accomplices were hiding in Solapur and Osmanabad districts. Accordingly, four teams were formed and sent to search for the accused. Police arrested Appa Bhosale, his wife Sarika and Akshay, who were hiding in the forest for four consecutive days in disguise in the Akkalkot area. Police also arrested Ajay.

The investigation was carried out under the guidance of Police Commissioner Krishna Prakash, Additional Commissioner of Police Ramnath Pokle, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Sudhir Hiresat, DCP (Zone 2) Anand Bhoite, ACP Prashant Amritkar and Senior Police Inspector Ramdas Ingwale.

The team included Pradip Londhe, API Gomare, PSI Rahul Koli and police personnel Dhanraj Kiranale, Dattatreya Bansode, Nitin Bahirat, Sawan Rathod, Dnyaneshwar Gadekar, Bharat Dayanand Khedkar, Dhananjay Bhosale, Sandeep Thackeray, Rajkumar Ighare, Shyamsunder Gutta, Ganesh Malusare, Gopal Brahmade, Rajendra Shete, Nagesh Mali, Vikas Avati and Popat Halge.
