Pune : Pimpri Chinchwad Police Send Proposal To Suspend Over 650 Driving License For Traffic Rules Violation, 195 Already Suspended In The Current Year
Pune 1st Sept 2023: The traffic department of Pimpri Chinchwad Police has started taking a strict action against traffic rules violation in the city as the officials have now started recommending suspension of license of those found involved in violating the traffic rules. The action has been started by the department under a unique initiative under which a total of 194 license have been already suspended in the current year.
A special drive is being conducted by the Pimpri Chinchwad Police against the traffic rules violators. A proposal has been forwarded to the Regional Transport Officer (RTO) to suspend the license of people found using mobile phones while driving, driving with more people than permitted for the vehicle, rash driving etc. under a special provision. In the current year, we have sent proposals to suspend the license of 660 people of which license of 194 of them has been suspended as well and the license of remaining people will also be suspended in the next few days, said officials.
The police have urged the commuters to avoid violating traffic rules to avoid this action. A fine of Rs 10,000 is imposed against the people who are found driving vehicles despite suspension of their license due to traffic rules violation.
