Pune: Man Duped Of Over Rs 1 Crore On Pretext Of Selling Bronze Utensils To NASA And ISRO, Case Registered

Pune 1st Sept 2023: In a shocking incident reported in Baramati, a farmer has lodged a complaint against four men for allegedly duping him in the name of selling bronze utensils which the fraudsters claimed are purchased by scientists at ISRO and NASA. One of the accused informed the complainant that he has 250 year old bronze utensils that generate power. He said that these utensils are purchased by International Space Research Center (ISRO) and National Aeronatics and Space Administration (NASA) for research purpose and they pay around Rs 200 to 300 Crore for it.

The accused forced the farmer to pay Rs 90 lakh on pretext of fees to check the power generated by these utensils before making a deal to sell them. The complainant sold his plot to pay him money expecting that he will get more returns when the utensils are sold to the institutes. However, when the accused stopped responding to his calls and went unreachable the farmer realised that he has been duped and approached police to lodge a complaint in the matter. Meanwhile, he approached three more people while searching for the main accused and they also duped him of around Rs 22 lakh.

According to the police complaint, the alleged fraud took place between 2017 and 2023. The police have booked the main accused identified as Rafique Ismail Tamboli, a resident of Lohegaon, Pune along with other two accused identified as Siraj Shaikh alias Pansare, Umesh Umapure and Dhanaji Patil. Further investigation in the case is underway.
