Pune: Piyush Goyal Slams Rahul Gandhi, Highlights Private Sector’s Role in Employment Creation
Pune, 13th November 2024: Union Minister Piyush Goyal launched a scathing attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of not understanding the role of the private sector in employment generation. Speaking at a press conference in Pune, Goyal highlighted that Maharashtra, especially Pune, has become a preferred destination for foreign investment, significantly boosting employment opportunities across the state.
Goyal pointed out that the Congress has failed to recognize how much private sector investment drives job creation. “The Congress ‘Yuvraj’ (prince) does not understand that most employment today is created by the private sector, not just government jobs. India is the fastest-growing country in the world and is on its way to becoming an economic superpower,” Goyal stated.
The press conference was attended by BJP spokesperson Sandeep Khardekar, Kunal Tilak, West Maharashtra media chief Amol Kavitkar, Pushkar Tuljapurkar, and Hemant Lele.
Goyal praised the central and state governments’ efforts in creating a conducive environment for industrial growth. “With Narendra Modi’s third term as Prime Minister, the central government has been working with triple capacity, strengthening the economy and attracting foreign investments in large numbers,” he said, adding that India’s global prestige has risen significantly.
He also lauded the Maharashtra government, led by the BJP’s Mahayuti (Grand Alliance), for accelerating development projects across various regions, including Mumbai, Marathwada, Vidarbha, and Konkan. Goyal contrasted this progress with the previous administration under Uddhav Thackeray, stating that citizens no longer want that government back.
Recalling his recent visit to Nanded, Goyal mentioned that he witnessed a public outcry against the Congress, particularly their MP from the region. He emphasized that under Modi’s leadership, the country is advancing toward a future of development, aiming to reach every section of society.
Speaking about the upcoming elections, Goyal confidently predicted a landslide victory for the BJP’s Mahayuti in Maharashtra, especially in Mumbai. He also criticized senior leader Sharad Pawar for not implementing the Swaminathan Commission’s recommendations during his time in power, while asserting that the current government has taken the plan seriously and is working towards it.
The minister concluded by reiterating the government’s commitment to development, creating a safe environment for industries, and generating employment through infrastructure projects and industrial growth. “The industrial revolution will take India to new heights,” Goyal said.
