Pune: PM SHRI Ghorpadi Village High School & Junior College Upgraded with Modern Learning Facilities Under PM SHRI Scheme

Ghorpadi, 30th July 2026: PM SHRI Ghorpadi Village High School & Junior College in Ghorpadi has significantly upgraded its educational infrastructure under the PM SHRI (Prime Minister Schools for Rising India) scheme, introducing modern, technology-driven learning facilities to enhance students’ academic experience.
As part of the initiative, the school has established a digital computer laboratory, a modern library, mathematics and science laboratories, a social science laboratory, and a fully equipped STEM Robotics Lab, enabling students to gain practical exposure to science, technology, engineering, and robotics.
Additionally, every student from Classes V to VIII has been provided with two sets of school uniforms and an identity card.
To review the newly developed facilities, Pune Cantonment Board Chief Executive Officer Vidyadhar Pawar and Joint Chief Executive Officer Priya Purohit visited the school and interacted with the management, teachers, and students.
The officials were welcomed by Principal Vilas Garud, who briefed them on the various initiatives implemented under the PM SHRI scheme and explained how the upgraded infrastructure is enhancing the quality of education and supporting the overall development of students.
During the visit, the officials inspected the digital classrooms, computer laboratory, STEM Robotics Lab, science and mathematics laboratories, social science laboratory, and the modern library. They appreciated the school’s clean, well-maintained, and student-friendly learning environment and commended its efforts to integrate technology into education.
Speaking on the occasion, CEO Vidyadhar Pawar said, “The PM SHRI initiative is transforming government schools into centres of excellence. Facilities such as digital classrooms, STEM robotics labs, and modern laboratories will help students develop practical knowledge, innovation, and confidence. Pune Cantonment Board remains committed to providing quality education and creating better learning opportunities for every child.”
Joint CEO Priya Purohit said, “Modern educational infrastructure plays a vital role in preparing students for the future. It is encouraging to see students benefiting from technology-enabled learning. The dedication of the school’s teachers and management in implementing the PM SHRI vision is highly commendable.”
Expressing his gratitude, Principal Vilas Garud said, “The PM SHRI scheme has given our students access to world-class educational facilities. The STEM Robotics Lab, digital learning resources, and upgraded laboratories will enhance experiential learning and inspire students to excel academically and creatively.
