Pune: PMC Collects Rs 1304 Crores Income From Property Tax In First Six Months

Pune, 12th October 2022: An income of Rs 1,304 crores has accumulated in the coffers of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) from property tax in the first six months. 206 crore more tax has been paid in the first six months compared to last year.

 

1,546 properties have been sealed in six months for recovery of arrears, the information was given by the Taxation and Tax Collection Department of the Municipal Corporation.

 

In this financial year, the property tax department has been given a target of Rs 2,400 crores. In the old and new limits of the city together the taxable property is eleven lakhs. Out of this, nine lakh properties are residential and the remaining two lakh properties are recorded with the Municipal Corporation’s Taxation and Tax Collection Department.

Seven lakh 60 thousand 668 property holders have paid tax of Rs one thousand 304 crores out of eleven lakh property. Last year, in the first six months of the financial year, six lakh 97 thousand 863 property holders paid property tax of about Rs one thousand 97 crores 67 lakhs.

 

Therefore, it is clear that the property has increased by Rs 206 crores this year compared to last year. Meanwhile, 27,954 new properties were registered in the financial year, so the municipal corporation will get an additional income of 339 crores.
