Pune: PMC Declares 42 Micro Containment Zones; Hadapsar Has Housing Societies With Most Covid-19 Patients

Pune, 3rd March 2021: The recent spike in Covid-19 cases has forced the civic authority to impose restrictions on the people to avoid the spread of Coronavirus in the city. The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has declared 42 societies as micro containment zones and barricades have been put up outside these societies.

The PMC has declared those societies as a micro containment zone in which more than 20 people have been found positive with Coronavirus disease (COVID19). If there are five or more patients in a building then that building is also declared as a micro containment zone. As of now, 42 societies under 10 ward offices have been declared as micro containment zones in which the Hadapsar area has the highest (7) number of societies declared as micro containment zones.

Barricading has been done outside societies. Residents have been asked not to gather together and no person from outside is allowed to go to the society. Members from the house in which not a single person is infected are allowed to come and go for their daily work.
