Pune: PMC Demolishes 19,700 Sq. Ft. of Illegal Structures in Kondhwa–Yeolewadi

Kondhwa, 18th September 2025: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) on Wednesday carried out a large-scale anti-encroachment drive in the Kondhwa–Yeolewadi region, removing about 19,700 sq. ft. of unauthorized constructions.
The operation was conducted under the orders of Additional Commissioner (Encroachment) Sandeep Khalate and Deputy Commissioner (Zone 4) Prashant Thombre. It covered areas from Undri Chowk to Kadnagar, as well as Sainagar and Kapilnagar.
Assistant Commissioner Laxman Kadbane supervised the action, with coordinated support from the Building Development and Encroachment departments.
Among those present were Executive Engineer Sandeep Shinde, Junior Engineers Rutuja Chilakewar and Kiran Ahirrao, Regional Encroachment Inspector Ganesh Taru, Senior Encroachment Inspector Kiran Dawari, and Assistant Inspectors Santosh Methe, Sachin Jadhav, Pratik Sanap, Ranjit Jadhav, Madhav Bahiram, and Kiran Shinde. Staff from Hadapsar and Wanwadi regional offices under Zone 4 also assisted in the operation.
During the drive, PMC teams demolished:
3 counters
19 sheds
3 other structures
5 street stalls
8 handcarts
Temporary and permanent constructions covering 19,700 sq. ft.
The operation was carried out with the support of Pune Police and MSF jawans.
PMC officials stated that similar drives will continue to remove encroachments from public roads, footpaths, and margins to improve accessibility for citizens.
