Pune, 11th September 2025: In a major crackdown on illegal encroachments, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) on Thursday carried out simultaneous demolition drives across five zones of the city, clearing 5,000 sq. ft. of unauthorized constructions.

The action was conducted in Aundh-Baner, Nagar Road–Vadgaonsheri, Mundhwa-Hadapsar, Dhankawadi-Sahakarnagar, and Kasba-Vishrambaugwada areas. During the operation, the civic team removed 2 stalls, 19 street vendors, 90 hawkers, and 97 illegal sheds.

The drive was led by Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Bhalgat along with the Encroachment Department, supported by the police and the Maharashtra Security Force. Officials said the action targeted unauthorized sheds, cylinder sales points, roadside vendors, and obstructions on sidewalks, footpaths, and public spaces.
