Pune: PMC Demolishes 92,000 Sq Ft of Unauthorized Constructions in Aundh, Baner Areas

Aundh/Baner, 7th November 2025: In a major crackdown on illegal structures, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) on Friday demolished about 92,535 square feet of unauthorized constructions in the Baner area. The action was carried out by the Building Development Department (Zone No. 3) along the stretch from Medi Point Chowk to Jupiter Hospital Chowk.

According to officials, the demolished structures included unauthorized shops, nurseries, furniture outlets, vegetable markets, hotels, stone sheds, and concrete constructions on both sides of the road. The civic body has intensified its campaign against encroachments and illegal developments across the city, and the Baner action was part of this ongoing drive.

To maintain law and order during the operation, police security was deployed to prevent any resistance from the affected parties. The demolition was conducted under the supervision of the Superintendent Engineer and Executive Engineer of the Building Development Department (Zone 3), with the assistance of the Deputy Engineer, Junior Engineer, and officials from the Anti-Encroachment Department.

Two JCBs, a gas cutter, and a team of ten workers were used in the operation. Following the demolition, the road was cleared, improving accessibility and easing traffic congestion in the area.
