Pune, 2nd April, 2026: The disaster management department of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) received 145 complaints related to waterlogging, clogged drainage chambers, and rainwater entering residential premises, along with 21 incidents of fallen trees due to unseasonal heavy rain reported in the city earlier today, officials said on Thursday.

Civic authorities said all complaints were attended to on priority, with response teams deployed by respective ward offices to provide immediate assistance. The disaster management department coordinated with multiple civic wings and the district administration to ensure swift action, including conducting on-site assessments in affected areas.

Emergency teams comprising assistant commissioners, engineers, health officials and fire brigade personnel were mobilised to tackle the situation. Equipment such as JCB machines, utility vans, dumpers and cutters were used to clear debris, remove fallen trees and drain accumulated water.

Areas that reported significant waterlogging included Khadakwasla, Sinhagad Road, Bibwewadi, Kondhwa, Vishrambaug Wada, Fergusson College Road, Swargate, Koregaon Park, Undri, Hadapsar and Warje, among others.

Senior civic officials, including the municipal commissioner and additional commissioners, reviewed the situation at the PMC’s disaster management control room and directed all departments to ensure immediate relief measures.

The civic body has urged citizens to contact its 24×7 emergency helpline numbers — 020-25501269 and 020-25506800 — in case of emergencies.
