Kondhwa, 4th January 2024: In a significant move towards infrastructure development, Pune Municipal Corporation’s (PMC) Additional Commissioner, Vikas Dhakne, alongside various officials, conducted an inspection of pending work and road widening in the NIBM road area in Kondhwa.

The inspection, spearheaded by Vikas Dhakne, emphasized addressing pending work and widening the roads in the NIBM road area. Notably, the road passing through the forest at Cloud 9 Society was identified as a key area for the remaining work and development.

To facilitate the road widening, MSEDCL pillars obstructing the path will be removed, and necessary measures will be taken. The inspection also led to directives for officials to address encroachments at intersections, aiming to alleviate traffic congestion in the area.

During the visit, Dhakne engaged in discussions with representatives of various societies, emphasizing the importance of acquiring spaces owned by these societies on the corners of squares and ensuring cleanliness. The planned widening of the approximately one-kilometre road from the National Institute of Bank Management (NIBM) to Palace Orchard, by two meters on both sides, is expected to ease traffic congestion and enhance the overall commuting experience for citizens.

Former corporators Nanda Lonkar and Narayan Lonkar, along with other officials and local citizens, were present during the inspection. The Additional Commissioner expressed satisfaction with the measures taken and emphasized the immediate need for widening the concerned road.

Speaking about the widening of roads in various areas like Jyoti Pure Veg Restaurant, Cloud 9 Society, Baker’s Point, Kondhwa Budruk Gaothan, and Parge Nagar, Nanda Lonkar highlighted the positive impact these initiatives would have on citizen relief. Additionally, there were calls for constructing a hospital under Public-Private Partnership (PPP) in the amenity area of Survey No. 37.

Vikas Dhakne, the Additional Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation, assured prompt action regarding the widening of the concerned road. He emphasized the enforcement of strict measures against any laxity in the ongoing work and issued notices to the encroachment inspector as part of the commitment to expeditious development in the region.
