Pune: PMC Imposes Penalty On 47 Hotels For Violating Covid-19 Protocols In Last 5 Days

Pune, February 22, 2021: Considering the increasing prevalence of corona, Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has begun taking action against hotels and other establishments in Pune. Hotels that do not follow the rules are being penalized.

These include the famous Goodluck Cafe on FC Road, Vaishali, and Roopali Hotel. A total of 47 hotels have been raided in the last five days. A fine of Rs 1,000 each has been imposed.

“The action has been taken on the basis of social distance, not wearing masks, and use of sanitiser” stated Manisha Naik of the health department.

New cases of Covid-19 patients are increasing in the city. Therefore, instructions have been given by the municipal corporation, district collector’s office, and police administration to follow the rules. The corporation is now taking action against the ones violating the Covid-19 rules. According to the corporation, 47 hotels in the city have been raided in the last five days.

In this regard, Manisha Naik, Assistant Health Officer, informed that this action will continue in the city. Hoteliers as well as other establishments should follow the rules to prevent the spread of corona.  She has appealed to the people to follow the instructions given as well as to wear masks and maintain social distancing.
