Pune: PMC Issues Curfew Guidelines; Know What Is Allowed, Not Allowed

Pune, December 22, 2020: Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has announced guidelines for various restrictions after Pune City Police issued night curfew from December 22, 2020, to January 5, 2021, following the orders from the Maharashtra state government.

Several questions about the guidelines of night curfew were raised by citizens, therefore the civic body has issued a detailed order clarifying the same about what is allowed and what is not allowed.

The order states, “No person shall be allowed to go out of the house within the limits of Pune Municipal Corporation from 11 pm to 6 am in the period from 22nd December 2020 to 5th January 2021, except for urgent reasons / essential services.

Sick persons, senior citizens above 65 years, pregnant women, children under the age of 10 will not be able to go out of the house unless it is regarding some health issue.

Essential commodities carrying vehicles and Individuals are excluded from this curfew order.

The employees appointed to maintain law and order as well as all the officers and vehicles working for coronavirus prevention are excluded from this order.

Employees of the companies and their vehicles who are engaged in various shifts are excluded from this order.

Vehicles transporting newspapers and their distribution staff are excluded from this order.

Passengers traveling by flights and trains with advance booking are also excluded from the order.
