Pune: PMC May Impose More Restrictions On People’s Movements
Pune, September 17, 2020: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) may impose restrictions again on people’s movements to reign in the rising coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in the city. The civic body is expected to issue a code of conduct for the citizens tomorrow (Friday).
The authorities have discussed issuing an order to limit people’s movements. As per the guidelines, only people will legitimate reason will be allowed to travel. Two or more people will not be allowed to stand together and wearing a mask in public will be mandatory every time they step out of their homes. Similar guidelines were issued in Mumbai earlier.
According to the civic body, the total number of COVID-19 positive patients has reached 124,568. Out of which, 103,978 have recovered, while 2,918 have died. Around 17,672 active patients are undergoing treatment in various hospitals, including 936 critical patients, out of which 480 are on ventilator support.
