Pune: PMC Orders Action Against Illegal RCC Motegaonkar Classes After MNS Protest
Deccan, 19th May 2026: The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) staged a protest at the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Commissioner’s office on Tuesday, alleging that civic officials failed to act against an allegedly illegal coaching class operating in the Deccan Gymkhana area despite issuing a notice two months ago.
Following the protest, PMC Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram reportedly directed the administration to seal the premises of RCC Motegaonkar Classes, which is operating from
the Borawake Building on Jungli Maharaj Road.
According to MNS state general secretary Hemant Sambhus, the building where the coaching class is being conducted has not received an occupancy certificate from the civic body. Despite this, the premises were allegedly being used commercially. Sambhus said the party had earlier filed a complaint with the PMC’s building permissions department regarding the alleged unauthorised use of the building.
After verification, the PMC had issued a notice to the property owner, instructing them to stop the allegedly illegal operation of the coaching class. However, MNS alleged that no further action was taken even after two months, prompting the protest at the commissioner’s office.
Sambhus accused PMC officials of delaying action to protect “financial interests” and claimed the civic administration failed to enforce its own notice. He said the commissioner took serious note of the protest and ordered officials to seal the coaching class premises.
MNS also alleged that the building owner had started using the structure without obtaining the mandatory occupancy certificate from the PMC. In addition, the coaching class operators had allegedly not secured a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the fire department.
The party claimed that PMC officials had earlier assured action against the alleged unauthorised construction and violations. However, as no action was taken over the past two months, MNS decided to launch the agitation, Sambhus added.
