Pune: PMC Reopens 81 Parks And Gardens; Check New Guidelines

Pune, October 30, 2020: Parks and gardens are all set to open its gates for morning walkers starting from November 1, 2020. As many as 81 parks out of 200 parks will be reopened after months of shut down in the wake of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has permitted 81 parks outside containment zones starting from Sunday. PMC Commissioner Vikram Kumar in the new order has allowed gardens to open from 6 am to 8 am and from 5 pm to 7 pm with mandatory social distancing and sanitation rules applicable.
The civic body has also restricted the citizens to doing anything other than personal exercise like running, walking by keeping physical distancing in the park. Comedy clubs, yoga, shooting, and other community, cultural, public events will not be allowed.
Citizens are also not allowed to use gym equipment, toys, and benches as well. It will be mandatory for every citizen who comes to the park to wear a mask.
Other guidelines also include forbidding chewing of pan, tobacco, and spitting in the park. Children below ten years of age and persons above 65 years of age, sick persons, pregnant women will not be allowed to enter the park.
In case of violation of rules by the citizens, the parks will be closed immediately, and strict action will be taken as well.
