Pune: PMC Seizes 787 Properties Over Non-Payment Of Property Tax In Last 1.5 Years

Pune 15th July 2023: The Pune Municipal Corporation has indicated that it will increase action against property owners failing to pay property tax in time. The officials have seized a total of 787 properties over non-payment of tax in the last 1.5 year. Around Rs 55 Crore tax payment is due from these properties.
The officials claim that despite the state government’s decision to continue 40% discount on the property tax in Pune, many residents are not coming forward to pay their dues.
According to officials, the pending dues of property tax has gone above Rs 10,000 Crore. Many of these property owners have also approached court over dispute while remaining are ignoring the PMC’s appeal to make payment on time, said officials.
