Milind Ekbote Withdraws Petition Seeking Quashing Of FIR For Hate Speech Registered In Pune

Pune 15th July 2023: Hindutva leader and founder of Samasta Hindu Aghadi Milind Ekbote has withdrawn a petition filed at the Bombay High Court seeking quashing of FIR registered against him. His lawyer on Friday has informed the court that Ekbote will withdraw the petition regarding an FIR registered in Pune.
According to reports, this came after the court indicated that it would not rule in Ekbote’s favour. Ekbote and few others were booked for delivering alleged hate speech during an event held in Pune. A case in this regard was registered at Khadak Police Station in 2021.
The alleged hate speech was given at an event organised at Natubag in the city to commemorate the killing of Afzal Khan by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. It was alleged that Ekbote in his speech used statements that could hurt religious sentiments. One more FIR was registered in the matter at Thane.
