Pune: PMC Shuts Down 24 COVID Care Centres

Pune, September 17, 2020: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has shut down 24 Covid-19 care centres in the city. Additional municipal commissioner Rubal Agarwal has directed the staff appointed here to resume back to their original positions. This will facilitate in giving better medical services.

 

To content the COVID spread, PMC had erected such centres that were used to provide shelter to the migrants, quarantine centre, testing centre. And thus a large number of medical staff was posted here. This had disturbed their functioning.

 

Similarly, now jumbo Covid-19 centres have been started to look after the serious patients in the same way home quarantine option was created for patients with moderate and mild. Various NGO’s and political leaders have come forward and started isolation centres.

“Because of this, these 24 centres were shut down, as migrants have moved out, people have been home quarantine”, said the medical officer without naming him.
