Pune: PMC Starts Free COVID Test in Lohegaon, Results Received in One Hour

Lohegaon, August 17, 2020: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has started a free test for Coronavirus disease (COVID19) in Lohegaon. The result of the rapid antigen is received within one hour.

 

According to Medical Officer Lalita Tamnar, those who want to undergo the test can report to the ZP School opposite Lohegaon bus stop between 9.30 am to 1 pm. The free tests started today and will continue until August 22.

As per the Maharashtra Health Department report, now Pune district has got the highest number of Coronavirus disease (COVID19) cases in the state. Pune has got more cases than Mumbai now.

 

There are 1.3 lakh COVID cases in Pune, 1.28 in Mumbai and 1.13 in Thane. Across Maharashtra, 8,837 people got discharged from hospitals while 11,111 new cases and 288 deaths were reported today. The total number of COVID cases has reached 5,95,865 out of which 4,17,123 people have recovered and 20,037 have died. There are 1,58,395 active cases.

Out of 1.3 lakh cases in Pune, 86393 have recovered while 3193 have died. There are still 41020 patients undergoing treatment in hospitals. All these cases are from areas under the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), Cantonments, Municipal Councils and Pune rural areas.

The total number of cases in Pune district by the end of this month is expected to reach two lakh. As the number of hospital beds is full, temporary jumbo hospitals are being built in different parts of Pune city and Pimpri Chinchwad besides the rural areas.
