Pune, 23 June 2021: The Pune Municipal Corporation owns about 33,000 square feet of space in the ICC Tower on Senapati Bapat Road. After dilly-dallying for over one and a half years, now the civic body will lease the space to a firm and earn Rs 5.5 crore per year.

Earlier, there was no consensus whether to give this space to Pune Smart City company or utilise it for commercial purpose. Now the tender has been approved by the general body of the civic body to rent out the property.

Rajendra Muthe, Head of Estate and Management Department, had issued tenders three times for the lease. Finally, the property will be leased out for 15 years and PMC will get Rs 5.5 crore per year.

Congress leaders Aba Bagul and Avinash Bagwe had opposed the proposal.

However, the PMC general body voted in favour of leasing out 33,000-square-feet space in the ICC Trade Tower.
