Pune: PMC To Lift The Cap On The Hospital Bills
Pune, October 31, 2020: Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has decided to lift the cap on the payment of the COVID-19 bills which was imposed after it received several complaints from the citizens regarding over-charging for the Coronavirus disease (COVID19) treatment.
With a decreasing number of COVID patients, the PMC decided to lift the cap. Currently, only 5,600 patients are under COVID treatment in the city. Nevertheless, this decision of PMC will affect these patients badly.
“During the COVID lockdown, PMC had reduced the bill amount by over Rs two crores by intervening between the patients and the hospital. With the lift, the private hospitals will be free to charge according to their whims and fancies”, said one of the PMC officials on the condition of anonymity.
