Pune: PMC To Sell Its 1512 Rented Apartments For Rs 12 Lakh To Rs 15 Lakh

Pune, 15th June 2021: Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has a number of apartments in the city which are used for various reasons including renting to those in need. Out of these PMC has decided to sell 1512 apartments to gain monetary benefits for the PMC coffers.

These apartments were given on lease to those who have lost their houses in various projects of the PMC. Also, the civic body used to collect a nominal tax of 450 rupees from these tenants.

The proposal has been approved by the City Improvement Committee and these apartments will now be sold between 12 to 15 lakh rupees. The current occupants of these apartments will also be able to buy these apartments.

Along with the main department in PMC, the apartments have been rented out in areas of Aundh, Kothrud, Warje Karvenagar, Dhole Patil Road, and Hadapsar Ward Offices. Out of these 1512 apartments, 1081 belong to the main department while 431 belong to ward offices. These 270 square feet apartments have been rented out since 1991-92.
