Pune: PMC To Shift Corona Patients From Jumbo Covid Centres To Other Places

Pune, 16 April 2021: In a major decision, Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has decided to shift the Covid-19 patients admitted to jumbo Care units at COEP, Baner and Dalvi hospital. These patients who have recovered from the disease, yet need some care will be shifted.

“The patients who were on oxygen initially, but now do not require it can be shifted”, said additional municipal commissioner Rubal Agarwal. The civic body is taking several measures to make beds available for the patients. This step is one among it.

The COEP jumbo hospital was made operational again. It has a capacity of 700 beds and now 100 more beds will be added to it. Till now 1300 patients were admitted here out of which 425 were discharged. As many as 650 patients are taking treatment.

This jumbo unit has 10 to 15 casualty beds while 10 emergency beds.
Now, the patients who do not require the oxygenated beds, but need observation will be shifted to other places. Nearly, 200 beds have been created at COEP hostel.
