Pune: PMC’s Fire Brigade Dept To Get New Building For Head Office In Lohianagar

Pune 6th August 2023: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) will soon construct a new building for the fire brigade department head office in Lohianagar. The new will replace the old building located at Bhavani Peth area. A proposal in this regard was moved by the fire brigade department which was approved by the Municipal Commissioner, said officials.

The new building that will be constructed at Lohianagar will have multiple floors, enough space to park firefighting vehicles and other facilities. The current building of the fire brigade office is in a dilapidated condition and they road to reach the office is also very congested.

Due to encroachment on road at some spots and located in the congested area the heavy vehicles of the fire brigade department were also facing difficulties at times while rushing to attend an emergency call. Besides, the building structure was also very old as a part of slab had collapsed near the control room in the past.
