Pune: PMPML Bus Tyre Comes Off Mid-Journey in Bhor, Major Accident Averted
Bhor, 6th October 2026: A PMPML bus travelling from Velhe towards Pune suffered a sudden tyre-related failure at Ghorepadal in Bhor taluka on Monday, causing the bus to jolt violently and raising concerns over passenger safety.
According to preliminary information, one of the bus’s wheels reportedly came off while the vehicle was carrying several passengers. The impact was strong enough to dislodge the bus’s
front windshield, which fell onto the road.
Fortunately, no passengers were injured in the incident. At the time the wheel came off, there was reportedly no other vehicle near the bus, preventing what could have been a major accident.
The incident has raised questions about the condition and maintenance of buses operating on the Velhe-Pune route, particularly given the number of passengers who rely on public transport in the area.

Local residents and passengers have demanded that PMPML deploy buses in good mechanical condition on the route to ensure the safety of commuters.
