Pune 21st Sept 2023: The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has decided to restart the services from Hadapsar Railway Station after it was closed citing low response on the route. The transport body has now announced to start the service again from Friday, September 22.

Considering the increasing demand of passengers, it has been decided to start the bus number 156 between Hadapsar Railway Station to Hadapsar Gadital via Magarpatta-Mundhwa Gaon-Mundhwa Chowk-Lonkar Colony. Besides, the bus number 119 between Mundhwa Chowk to Kesnand Phata, Wagholi via Malwadi-Manjari-Awhalwadi-Satav Park and Wagholi Bazar wil also resume service from September 22, said PMPML officials.

The bus between Mundhwa Chowk and Kesnand Phata will be available every hour while bus from Hadapsar Railway Station will be arranged according to the train timings. It may be noted that the bus service from Hadapsar Railway Station was earlier started by PMPML after discussion with the railway officials considering few trains having their origin and arrival here. However, the service was shut down citing low response of passengers.

Several passengers and activists raised the issue as there is no other alternative for the commuters arriving at the Hadapsar Railway Station for travel and the auto rickshaws charge exorbitant fare which people cannot not afford. As a result, many commuters had to walk up to a few meters to reach the main road to catch a bus to travel further in the city. The railway administration had also assured to discuss the matter with the PMPML to restart the service. The services have been resumed now but with an only option to travel to Hadapsar. The commuters willing to travel to other parts of the city will have to change bus from Hadapsar or Mundhwa to reach their respective destination.
