Pune: PMPML to increase emergency buses on these routes

Pune July 02, 2020: The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has decided to increase the number of buses for emergency services on selective routes in the city.
As per information provided by PMPML Traffic Manager Anant Waghmare, “The PMPML emergency bus service will be increased in the peak hours. At present the buses are available after every one hour during the peak time. It has been decided to provide buses every half-an-hour from Monday during the peak hours.”
However, the PMPML has also deputed four checker squads for morning and afternoon, who will be responsible for checking whether the rules of social distancing, masks, cleanliness of buses, compulsory only 21 passengers in each bus and others are followed. The team will give a report on a day to day basis. Apart from this, all depots have been informed to depute sanitisation teamd at the important bus stands.
According to the official, the plan has been prepared to start the buses on routes across the city except for the containment zones.
