Pune: PMRDA Dismantles 25 Illegal Tin Sheds in Navale Bridge Area to Clear Traffic Congestion

Narhe, 23rd December 2024: The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) carried out a traffic clearance operation in the Navale Bridge area today to prevent traffic congestion by removing encroachments. Around 7 AM, 25 illegally constructed tin sheds were dismantled. PMRDA has appealed to the concerned parties and others not to carry out unauthorized construction, considering its impact on traffic.

PMRDA’s Illegal Construction (Demolition) Department has been taking action against unauthorized constructions in recent days, and related structures are being removed. Today, a PMRDA team removed 25 illegally constructed tin sheds to prevent continuous traffic congestion in the Navale Bridge area.

This action was taken under the guidance of PMRDA Commissioner Dr Yogesh Mhase, Superintendent of Police Amol Tambe, Joint Commissioner Dr Deepti Suryawanshi-Patil, Deputy Collector Pramod Kudale, Tehsildar Sachin Mhaske, Tehsildar Ravindra Ranjane, Police Inspector Mahesh Kumar Sartape, Junior Engineers Vishnu Awhad, Ganesh Jadhav, and Abhinav Londhe, along with police and fire department personnel.

A survey of constructions, including unauthorized hoardings within the PMRDA limits, is underway, and action is being taken to remove them. Property owners are urged to obtain permission before carrying out construction and to immediately stop any ongoing unauthorized construction. PMRDA Metropolitan Commissioner Dr Yogesh Mhase expressed confidence that today’s action in the Navale Bridge area will help alleviate the problem of traffic congestion.
