Lohegaon, 24th November 2023: The Pune Metropolitan Area Development Authority (PMRDA) has commenced the land acquisition process for the upcoming Ring Road project. A meeting has been initiated with the farmers affected by the project, presenting them with three options: FSI, TDR, or cash. The initial phase focuses on acquiring land between Alandi and Nagar Road.

The Maharashtra state government has granted approval for the 85 km long and 65-meter-wide Ring Road project undertaken by PMRDA. Approximately 700 to 750 acres of land are earmarked for acquisition in phases. The ‘MSRDC’-undertaken Ring Road extends to the village of Solu (Khed, Pune), where the ‘PMRDA’ Ring Road will connect. Consequently, the authority has initiated the process of acquiring a stretch of the ring road, measuring about six and a half kilometers from Alandi to Wagholi on the Nagar Road. Proposals for this acquisition have been submitted to the District Collector.

Land acquisition for the Ring Road is underway in the villages of Nirgude, Vadgaon Shinde, and Solu, with ‘PMRDA’ collaborating with revenue officials. A meeting with potentially affected farmers has been convened to secure consent. Once consent is obtained, the road’s route, construction area, and survey numbers will be determined. Subsequently, land acquisition will proceed through direct purchase or compensation via FSI or TDR. PMRDA has confirmed the initiation of these preparations.
