Pune: PMRDA To Conduct Survey On Highways To Find Illegal Hoardings, 12 Members Committee To Take Action

Pune 6th Sept 2023: The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has formed a committee of 12 members to conduct a survey of illegal hoardings on the highways. The committee members will also trace owners of the hoarding to check whether the norms have been followed while installing the hoarding and appropriate action will be taken against the matter.

The committee will include Tehsildar rank officers who will lead the action and the officials will start conducting a survey in a week’s time. According to officials, Pune-Nashik Highway, Pune-Mumbai Expressway, Pune-Mumbai Old Highway, Pune-Ahmednagar HIghway, Pune-Satara Highway, and Pune-Solapur Highway will be checked during the survey. A total of 814 villages are in the jurisdiction of PMRDA.

The survey also aims to collect information about the legal and illegal hoardings in the PMRDA as the officials at PMRDA did not have such data till now. The officials have also said that the hoardings installed illegally that pose danger to the commuters on the highway will be demolished and all the documents needed for installation of the hoarding will be checked from owners.
