Pune, 10th March 2026: A 20-year-old man has been arrested by Pune Police after a video allegedly showing him raising “Pakistan Zindabad” slogans went viral on social media, prompting complaints from several citizens.

The accused has been identified as Aman Mulla, a fabrication worker. Police said the video clip circulated widely online, following which authorities launched an investigation into the matter.

Based on the probe, police traced the accused and took him into custody. A case has been registered against him at Parvati Police Station.

During questioning, Mulla reportedly told investigators that the slogans were raised in a spirit of “fun and mockery.” However, police officials said they are examining the circumstances surrounding the incident to determine the actual intent.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Milind Mohite said authorities are also trying to identify the individual who recorded the video that later circulated widely on social media.

According to officials, Mulla later apologised after realising the seriousness of the situation once the video began circulating online.

Police, however, stated that strict action would be taken in cases involving anti-national slogans and that legal proceedings have been initiated as per the applicable law.
