Pune Police Arrest 26-Year-Old Man for Abetting Suicide of Minor After Sexual Abuse Allegations
Sahakar Nagar, 27th November 2024: A shocking incident involving the suicide of a 15-year-old boy has shaken Pune. It is reported that he faced sexual assault and other obscene acts, which led to his tragic decision to end his life. The Pune Police have arrested one suspect, and a case has been registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) of 2012, as well as for abetment of suicide, at the Sahakar Nagar Police Station.
The accused man (age 26) arrested is a resident of Dhankawadi. The deceased boy’s father has complained to the police.
According to police reports, the deceased boy and accused were acquainted with each other. Under the pretence of offering something enticing, the accused took the victim to the Taljai Hills area in Pune. There, he committed obscene acts and engaged in unnatural sexual assault against the boy. The accused also took photos of the boy and began to blackmail him afterwards.
The threats were communicated via phone. On 15th November, the boy died by suicide, hanging himself. Following this, the boy’s father reported the incident to the Sahakar Nagar Police Station. During the investigation, it was revealed that the accused had tortured the boy and coerced him into taking his own life. He was subsequently arrested in connection with this case.
