Pune Police Arrest Drug Trafficker In Baner, MD Drugs Worth Rs 4 Lakh Seized
Baner, 20th February 2023: Pune Police’s Anti-Narcotics Squad-2 has arrested a drug trafficker in the Baner area of the city who came from Mumbai to sell Mephedrone (MD).
Asif Ali Alimuddin Shaikh (36) of Kurla West in Mumbai, was caught with 20 grams of MD worth Rs 4 lakhs along with three mobiles, a car, and cash, totally worth Rs 8 lakhs. A case has been registered against him at Chaturshringi police station.
The police team was patrolling the area when they received information about Shaikh’s arrival in Baner area to sell the drugs. The team acted on the information and detained him, and the seized drugs and other items were recovered after interrogation.
The operation was conducted under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ramnath Pokle, DCP (Crime) Amol Zende and ACP Narayan Shirgaonkar. The team included Police Inspector Sunil Thopte and Santhosh Deshpande, Sahil Sheikh, Azim Sheikh, Yogesh Mandhare, Sandeep Jadhav and Disha Khewalkar.
