Pune Police Arrest Leader Of Gang Selling Illegal Oxytocin To Increase Milk Of Cows, Buffaloes

Thane, 13th November 2022: The Anti-Narcotics Squad of the Crime Branch (Pune city police) has arrested the main mastermind of a gang in West Bengal, which sells illegal Oxytocin drugs to increase the milk of cows and buffaloes, from the Mumbra area of Thane.

 

The arrested person has been identified as Babubhai alias Allauddin Laskar, a resident of Kalyan, Thane.

 

The other gang members from West Bengal who distributed Oxytocin were arrested by the Anti-Narcotics Squad, Vimantal Police Station and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The police team seized Rs 53.52 lakh stock of oxytocin drug.

 

 

In this case, Sameer Anwar Qureshi (29), resident of Kalwad Vasti, Lohgaon, Bishwajit Sudhanshu Jana (44), resident of Purba Bar, Vilaspur, Purba Medinipur, West Bengal, Mangal Kanallal Giri (27), resident of Tiraipur, West Bengal, Satyajit Maheshchandra Mondal (22), resident of Nabasan Kustia Panchayat, West Bengal, and Srimanta Manoranjan Halder (32), resident of Nalpurkur, Mandal, 24 Parganas, West Bengal were arrested. The accused were manufacturing oxytocin drugs in the Kalwad Wasti area of Lohegaon.

 

The main leader of this gang, Babubhai Laskar, had escaped. Senior police inspector of the anti-narcotics squad Vinayak Gaikwad got the information about his presence in the Mumbra area. A police team then arrested him from Amritnagar in the Mumbra area.

 

Oxytocin is a hormone. Oxytocin medication is used on the advice of medical experts to facilitate delivery. However, Oxytocin drug is used to increase milk production in cows and buffaloes too. Cows and buffaloes get more milk after giving Oxytocin medicine. However, it affects the human body. Medical experts have said that drinking this milk can cause serious disorders such as anaemia, visual impairment, stomach diseases, jaundice in newborns, bleeding in pregnant women, unnatural abortions, respiratory disorders, and skin disorders.
