Pune Police Arrest Main Accused Who Duped Men Through Friendship Clubs For Physical Relations With Wealthy Women

Pune, 18th February 2022: The Pune Cyber Police has arrested the main accused who scammed people on the pretext of adding them in groups for sex with high profile ladies. The accused had given advertisements in newspapers about a friendship club called Meenakshi friendship club.

The readers had to call on the given number and upon calling, the accused would gain their trust and make them believe that he would hook them up with high profile ladies and they would even earn money from it. The accused initially demanded a security fee of Rs two lakh to have a meeting with wealthy women and later would demand more money to be transferred into his account for various reasons on multiple occasions.

The accused had scammed an elderly man of Rs 60.02 lakh in a similar manner. The racket was busted after he filed a complaint with the police.

The arrested accused has been identified as Anup Suklal Manore, a resident of Mohammadwadi, Pune. Upon investigating, it was found out that the accused acquired a fake identity named Ganesh Shelar to deceive people.

The Cyber ​​Police Station, Shivajinagar, Pune has appealed to the people to beware of the criminals who commit crimes by showing the lure of providing women for sex.

The investigation was done under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ramnath Pokale, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Cyber crime and EOW) Bhagyashree Navtake, ACP Vijay Kumar Palsule, and Inspector DS Hake.

The team included Inspector Sangeeta Mali, PSI Sagar Padwal and police personnel Aslam Attar, Rahul Handal, Ankita Ragho, Shirish Gawde.
