Pune Police Arrest Three Youths Who Lured Men on Facebook, Promising ‘Girls’ and Robbed Them

Vishrantwadi, 13th February 2024: In a major breakthrough, the Detection Branch of Vishrantwadi Police Station, Pune City Police, has nabbed a criminal gang involved in looting men after luring them to provide girls for physical relations.

According to police, a 22-year-old resident of Alandi, fell victim to the deceptive tactics of three unknown individuals who approached him on Facebook. On February 1, they lured him to an open space behind Kasturba Society in Vishrantwadi, near the quarry, promising him meeting with a girl. However, the situation took a dark turn when he was subjected to verbal abuse, physical assault, and forced to hand over his mobile phone along with a total of 43,000 rupees.

After the youth lodged a complaint, a team led by Nitin Rathod initiated a search for the unidentified culprits. Utilizing technical information, the team successfully laid a trap and arrested Aman Aziz Shaikh (22 years, resident of Sainathnagar, Vadgaon Sheri), Majarjuber Khan (24 years, resident of Maharashtra Housing Board, Yerwada), and Deepak Shantaram Kamble (23 years, resident of Jadhavnagar, Yerwada).

Senior Police Inspector Kanchan Jadhav said, “During the investigation, the arrested individuals confessed to their involvement in the crime. They are currently in judicial custody remand and lodged in Yerwada Central Jail.”

The action was taken under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (East Region) Manoj Patil, DCP (Zone 4) Vijayakumar Magar, ACP (Khadki division) Aarti Bansode and Senior Police Inspector Kanchan Jadhav.

The team included Police Inspector (Crime) Bhalchandra Dhawale, PSI Nitin Rathod and police personnel Deepak Chavan, Yashwant Kive, Sampat Bhosle, Sanjay Badre, Sandeep Devkate, Praful More, Shekhar Kharade, Kishore Bhusare, Anil Bharmal, and Akshay Chapte.
