Pune: Police Arrest Two for Ganja Sale, Seize 10 kg of Ganja Worth Rs 1.40 Lakh
Hadapsar, 25th February 2023: Loni Kalbhor police arrested two individuals for selling ganja in Wadki and seized 10 kg of the illegal substance worth Rs 1.40 lakh. The arrested individuals have been identified as Rajeshkumar Vijay (23) and Rajkishore Yadav (19), both hailing from Bihar, and residents of Gaikwadwadi Road, Wadki.
Senior Police Inspector of Loni Kalbhor Police Station, Dattatray Chavan, said that the police had received information about the illegal drug sale in the cow and buffalo sheds at Sonawane’s farm in Wadki. After eight days of surveillance, the police team learned that the two suspects were selling ganja in the Gaikwadwadi Road, Wadki area.
On Wednesday, the police team detained the suspects near the cow-buffalo sheds of Sonawane and seized three bundles of greenish material (marijuana) wrapped with khaki-colored adhesive tape and ganja in a plastic bag, weighing a total of 10 kg and valued at Rs 1.40 lakh.
The police are conducting an investigation, and the accused will be prosecuted under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The police have advised citizens to report any such illegal activities to the police and help maintain law and order.
