Pune Police Bans Non-Voter Political Figures From Constituencies Until Election Results

Pune, 16th November 2024: Under the Pune City Police Commissionerate, any political individual who is not a voter in a specific constituency is prohibited from lingering or staying in that area until the results of the upcoming Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Elections are declared. This directive was issued today by Joint Commissioner of Police Ranjan Kumar Sharma.

The jurisdiction of the Pune City Police Commissionerate includes constituencies such as Shirur, Purandar, Bhor, Vadgaonsheri, Shivajinagar, Kothrud, Khadakwasla, Parvati, Hadapsar, Pune Cantonment, and Kasba Peth. The order applies to all these constituencies. As per the decision, politically affiliated individuals who do not belong to or vote in a particular constituency are not permitted to reside or remain in the area until the conclusion of the elections. This measure has been implemented to ensure that elections are conducted smoothly and peacefully.
