Pune Police Busts Gang That Cheated Youths With Fake Appointment Letters Of Railway Jobs

Pune, 4th February 2023: Pune police have arrested a gang who cheated about Rs 11 lakh by giving a joining letter with a fake signature and a fake logo of Indian Railways to get a railway job.

More information about this is that Senior Police Inspector Vinayak Gaikwad of the Anti-Narcotics Squad had received information that lakhs of rupees have been cheated by giving fake joining letters of employment at the Railway Mail Service Section (RMS). In this regard, under Sections 420, 465, 468, 471, and 34 of IPC, a case was registered on February 2 at Bund Garden Police Station.

While investigating the said crime, policeman Pandurang Pawar received information that the accused Yogesh Santaram Mane and Nilesh Santaram Mane, both residents of Tadiwala Road, Pune, have stopped in front of Railway Parcel Gate with a two-wheeler. At this time, the accused were taken into custody.

When accused Yogesh and Nilesh Mane were searched, fake appointment letters from Central Railway, bank checkbooks, other fake documents, and a cash amount of Rs 99,500 were found in their possession. Further investigation is being conducted by PSI Waghmare.

The action was taken under the guidance of Additional Crime Commissioner (Crime) Ramnath Pokle, Deputy Commissioner (Crime) Amol Zende, ACP (Crime-1) Sunil Pawar. The team included Anti-Narcotics Squad-2 Senior Police Inspector Vinayak Gaikwad, API Shailja Jankar, and Sujit Wadekar, Pandurang Pawar, Pravin Uttekar, Manoj Kumar Salunke, Maruti Pardhi, Vishal Dalvi, Sandeep Shirke, Vishal Shinde, Sandesh Kakade, Rehana Sheikh and Yogesh Mohite.
