By-elections have been announced in these two constituencies due to the death of Kasba MLA Mukta Tilak and Chinchwad MLA Laxman Jagtap. Votings for this seat will be held on February 26. Hemant Rasane, Ganesh Bidkar, Dheeraj Ghate along with Tilak’s husband Shailesh Tilak, and son Kunal Tilak were interested candidates in Kasba Peth Assembly from BJP. The names of these five candidates were sent to the region. After that, Rasane’s name was leading in the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) survey.

Even if Rasane was nominated, it was necessary for the BJP to take an important decision regarding the Tilak family. Therefore, Kunal Tilak was appointed as the regional spokesperson. After that, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis went to Kesariwada on Friday night and visited Tilak’s residence. Then this morning, BJP officially announced Rasane’s candidature.

From Chinchwad Assembly Constituency, Jagtap’s wife Ashwini Jagtap or his brother Shankar Jagtap could not be resolved. Finally, the party has decided to nominate Ashwini Jagtap.
